HKIA Airport City Link

Description

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) continues to advance its vision of creating a dynamic, world-class Airport City, bridging aviation operations with premier retail, commercial, and logistics hubs. As part of this signature infrastructure drive, the Airport CityLink Bridge serves as a vital elevated pedestrian corridor connecting Hong Kong Port Island to the SKYCITY complex.

Tasked with delivering a safe, durable, and visually distinctive surface across roughly 7,000 m² of footbridges and staircases, our team spearheaded site management, and specialized application for the project.

Tailored Material Engineering

To meet the rigorous demands of external public infrastructure, we specified a high-durability, UV-stable natural stone resin matrix. The engineered system addresses critical performance criteria for high-exposure environments:

  • All-Weather Slip Resistance: Natural stone aggregates embedded in a seamless resin matrix ensure high traction and pedestrian safety during heavy rainfall.
  • UV & Thermal Stability: Advanced binder technology prevents yellowing, surface degradation, and color loss under prolonged direct sunlight.
  • Low-Maintenance Durability: Built to withstand intense daily foot traffic while resisting moisture ingress and environmental wear.

Precision Execution & Craftsmanship

Aligning with the modern architectural identity of the Airport City, our application specialists executed four custom aggregate blends: White Sapphire, Smokey Quartz, Grey Moonstone, and Burnt Amber.

Through meticulous surface preparation, precise batching, and continuous on-site quality assurance, our field operations team ensured uniform texture, seamless transitions, and strict adherence to the project’s demanding structural timeline.

This landmark installation highlights our capability to combine specialized material insight, operational oversight, and flawless execution for large-scale urban infrastructure developments.
